Aturan Penggunaan Huruf Kapital pada Kata Benda Bahasa Inggris – Dalam bahasa Inggris, huruf kapital hanya digunakan pada proper noun saja, atau kata benda yang diberi nama spesifik. Contohnya seperti nama orang, kota, negara, hari, bulan, judul, gedung, hotel, jalan, brand produk, atau nama spesifik lainnya.

Namun, khusus dalam dunia bisnis, pemerintahan, kepolisian, dan militer, ada kata benda umum (common noun) yang ditulis dalam huruf capital untuk tujuan kesopanan. Contohnya seperti kata-kata yang menunjukan jabatan atau gelar seperti Company, Head of, President, Director, President, Office Manager, Commanding Officer, Division, Claims Department, Attorney General, Court, Regiment, Unit dan lain-lain.

Catatan:
• Terdapat pengecualian untuk aturan yang telah dijelaskan karena terkadang dalam dunia marketing (pemasaran), perusahaan/institusi menggunakan huruf kecil untuk menamai program atau produk mereka. Contohnya seperti iPhone, eBay, oneworld Alliance, dan lain-lain.
• Kata “I” adalah pronoun/kata ganti benda. Dalam bahasa Inggris ia selalu ditulis dalam huruf capital. Namun dalam bahasa lain, kata yang memiliki makna sepadan dengan “I” tidak ditulis dalam huruf capital.
